As seniors living in cohousing neighborhoods, we've all come to experience the joys and challenges of community. We have homes, Common Houses, and physical and social structures designed, in some cases decades ago, for ourselves at an earlier age, with different priorities and needs than what we are experiencing today.
The realities of aging in community often unfold in ways that weren't anticipated. What are cohousing communities--both intergenerational and senior--doing to navigate these challenges and be resilient?
EXPLORE WITH US in a day-long interactive Forum featuring senior residents from various communities, sharing best practices, challenges and what we have learned about the important issues of aging in community.
For each key topic, we envision a circle of 8-15 speakers from a range of communities—plus interested listeners. Facilitators will bring in a variety of different communities' perspectives on key topics identified based on suggestions from participants and their communities, and by you, with the survey below, open to all.

We welcome folks in communities from the Front Range and beyond. Consider attending National Cohousing Alliance (NCA) Community-Rooted Housing Summit in Denver on Saturday the 24th and the tours before it Wednesday through Friday, and stay on for this intimate gathering that follows.
About the Gathering
The Forum is convened by the National Cohousing Alliance's (NCA) Seniors in Cohousing Committee, and co-hosted with Aging in Community and Silver Sage Village, a long-established senior cohousing community across the street from an intergenerational one, and in proximity to nearly a dozen intergenerational communities in the region. The community’s meeting spaces and restrooms are wheelchair accessible.
Silver Sage Village is a short walk from a major in-town bus route, and a short ride from the main bus depot with intercity service from Denver and the airport. Based on participants’ travel needs, we’ll organize carpools from the Denver Summit site and/or nearby hotels/communities.
Can you attend? We want to hear from you, whether you can attend or not!
Space is limited, so to get a wide variety of perspectives from different communities we will prioritize 1 to 2 people per participating community, with a wait list for more on a space-available basis.
If you can’t attend, you should still fill out this Topics of Aging Survey to submit your ideas and experience with the challenges of aging and any strategies your community is exploring to support its membership. Your input – whether attending in person or sharing through the Topics Survey -- will help us help communities and their members -- of all ages -- better support each other and make community living a continuing option, full of joy and connection, support, and discovery.
If you can attend, Pay the registration fee ($25 covering lunch & refreshments). Each community member must register individually. Your spot is not reserved until you have paid the registration fee and filled out the attendee questionnaire. Once you pay, you will be directed to fill out theForum Registration & Topics of Aging Survey about your community and ideas for Forum topics.
